How to Set Up a Hot Tub
At Hot Tub Hire Essex, we take care of everything when setting up your hot tub, so you don’t have to lift a finger! From Upminster and Benfleet to Chelmsford, Brentwood, and beyond, we handle the entire process before your hire period begins.
While you won’t need to follow these steps, it’s helpful to know how it works. If you ever have any concerns, our team is always here to help with your hot tub hire.
Step 1: Leave the Power Connection to Us
Before anything else, do not connect the hot tub to power until everything is ready. Our team will ensure this is done safely and correctly when setting up your hot tub.
Step 2: Turn on the Jets
To prepare the hot tub, we rotate all the jet valves anti-clockwise, making sure that water can circulate properly once it’s filled. This step gets the jets ready for a relaxing experience.
Step 3: Turn Off Air Control Valves
All air control valves are turned off before filling the hot tub. This prevents any unwanted air from entering the system, ensuring the water fills smoothly and efficiently.
Step 4: Fill the Hot Tub via the Filter Housing
When it comes time to fill the hot tub, we add the water through the filter housing. This method helps keep the water clean from the start and prevents airlocks. This ensures proper filtration.
Step 5: Check the Water Level
The correct water level is crucial for optimal performance. On the Orbis hot tub model, we insert the filter cartridge and push the floating vane weir down until it touches the bottom of the housing. Once half of the vane is submerged, we know the water is at the right level for filtration.
Step 6: Safely Connect to Power
After filling, we connect the hot tub to the power using an RCD for added safety. Once the connection is secure, the control panel lights up, and the system automatically purges air from the lines to ensure proper operation.
Step 7: Heating the Water
The hot tub begins heating the water right away, typically aiming for a default temperature of 38°C. Depending on the water’s starting temperature, it may take up to 12 hours to heat to 37-38°C, perfect for relaxing in your spa bath.
Step 8: Sanitise Before Use
Before getting in, we always recommend sanitising the water to ensure it's clean and safe for use. This final step guarantees a refreshing and worry-free hot tub experience, whether it’s for a wedding, corporate event, or family fun day.
