Can you take the hot tub through the house?
Unfortunately, our hot tubs are a solid round one-piece unit. They are not designed to be taken through the house.
What access do we need?
With all of our hot tubs for hire, we will require a minimum of 30 inches clearance in width and 72 inches in height from start to finish. Upon booking a hot tub with us, we will require a video to be sent through via WhatsApp or Email, showing your access.
Are there any rules for using the hot tub?
We encourage customers to treat the hot tub as if it were their own. To keep it clean and enjoyable for everyone, we recommend washing your feet before entering to prevent dirt or grit from getting inside. For safety reasons, please refrain from smoking in the hot tub, as embers can cause significant damage. Additionally, avoid using glass in or around the hot tub—plastic cups are a safer alternative.
Should I cover the hot tub when not in use?
Yes, after each use, we recommend placing the lid back on the hot tub. This helps maintain your preferred temperature and prevents debris from falling into the water, ensuring your hot tub stays clean and ready for use.
How big is the hot tub?
All of our hot tubs vary in size. The average size of our hot tubs is 30 inches x 70 inches (0.76m x 1.85m) (6ft x 2.5ft). Please see the hot tub product page to see the size of the hot tub you are hiring.
Can the hot tub be situated on grass, decking, or concrete?
All of our hot tubs can be situated on grass, decking, or concrete. Please make sure that the area you are situating your hot tub on is a flat surface at all times. If you are placing your hot tub on decking, ensure that your decking can withstand the weight.
Where can I put my hot tub?
You should place your hot tub on a flat, level surface such as concrete, paving slabs, or structurally sound decking.
How many people can you fit in a hot tub?
All our hot tubs are different sizes. Please refer to the hot tub you are looking to hire to see its specification.
Do we need to drain the hot tub after we have finished using it?
Not at all. We actually ask you to leave the hot tub filled as a member of our team will need to do some final checks before draining your hot tub for you to your nearest drain or to the road.
Is it safe to use a hot tub while pregnant or on medication?
If you are pregnant or taking any medication, we strongly recommend consulting your doctor before using a hot tub to ensure it is safe for you.
How secure are the gazebos provided with hot tub hire?
Our gazebos are equipped with sturdy weights and can also be pegged into grass for added stability. If the weather turns bad during your hire period, we kindly ask customers to take appropriate precautions. If necessary, the gazebo can be taken down, and we’ll demonstrate how to do this during setup. It’s a simple process designed for your convenience and safety.
What temperature does the hot tub reach?
All of our hot tubs will reach an optimum temperature of 40 degrees. The recommended temperature is 37.5 degrees.
Do we need to provide any chemicals for the hire period?

Do I need to fill the hot tub?
Yes, we will require the customer to provide their own hose pipe and water supply unless stated otherwise.
How long will it take to heat up?
Our hot tubs fluctuate between 1.5 and 2 degrees every hour. This will depend on two factors: the time of year you hire and the ambient temperature outside. During the cold winter months, it can take up to 18 hours to fully heat. Alternatively, during the height of the season and warm summer months, it can take up to 10 to 15 hours to reach optimum temperature.
How long will it take to fill?

Don’t worry, Hot Tub Hire Essex will set up the hot tub for you! We handle everything, from filling it with water to connecting it safely to power. However, if you're curious about the setup process, it involves preparing the jets, ensuring the correct water level, and connecting to power with an RCD for safety.
What do the LED lights on my hot tub mean?
The green LED lights indicate whether accessories like the pumps or blower are on. Red LED lights show system statuses such as filtration mode (AUTO), heater activation, and sleep cycles. Understanding the LED lights on your hot tub helps you monitor the operation of the device.
How should I ensure electrical safety with my hot tub?
For hot tub electrical safety, always keep electrical devices at least two metres away from the hot tub, and ensure that your hot tub is powered by its own dedicated circuit with an RCD (we'll handle this for you). We take care of all electrical connections according to the latest safety regulations, so you're in good hands with Hot Tub Hire Essex.
Can I use my hot tub indoors?
Yes, you can, but make sure to have slip-resistant flooring and good ventilation to handle the high humidity. Also, be cautious of water splashes around and underneath the hot tub to avoid moisture damage.
How long does it take for my hot tub to heat up?
It typically takes up to 12 hours for the hot tub to heat to the ideal temperature of 37-38°C. This can vary depending on the starting water temperature and the hot tub model.
What is the AUTO mode on my hot tub?
AUTO mode means the filtration pump is automatically regulating the heating and filtration requirements. If the pump is manually turned off, AUTO mode will switch off, but it will automatically re-engage after 45 minutes of inactivity.
What should I do if I have special requirements for delivery?
If you have any specific needs or challenges regarding delivery, such as narrow access or difficult terrain, please let us know in advance. Hot Tub Hire Essex will make all the necessary arrangements to ensure a smooth delivery process.
Can I turn off the hot tub for maintenance?
If you need to perform any maintenance or adjustments, ensure the power is turned off at the mains. Hot Tub Hire Essex handles all maintenance and repairs, so feel free to contact us if you need assistance.
How much space do I need for hot tub delivery?
To ensure easy delivery, you should provide clear access to the area where you want the hot tub placed. We recommend a minimum clearance of 30 inches in width and 72 inches in height for smooth delivery.
What surfaces are unsuitable for a hot tub?
Dirty or uneven surfaces are not recommended for hot tub placement, as they can cause dust, insects, or water drainage issues, potentially shortening the lifespan of the equipment.
Do I need to prepare my garden for hot tub hire?
Yes, your garden should have a flat and stable surface like concrete or decking. Ensure there’s sufficient space for both the hot tub and access around it for maintenance.
Why isn't the heater turning on?
If the filtration pump is off or you’ve manually switched the pump to high speed, the heater may not activate due to load shedding. The heater and pump work together to maintain water temperature.
How do I maintain the correct water level?
Check that the water level is at least halfway up the filter housing. If the water level drops below this point, top up with water before continuing use to avoid damaging the pump.
What should I do if the LED indicators show an issue?
If the LED lights on your control panel indicate an error or an unusual system status, contact Hot Tub Hire Essex immediately for assistance. We’ll help troubleshoot and resolve any issues.
Can I customise the lights on my hot tub?
Yes, our hot tubs come with inbuilt LED lighting, which you can adjust to suit your mood. Create the perfect atmosphere by changing the colours or brightness directly from the control panel.
What if my hot tub takes too long to heat up?
If your hot tub seems to be taking longer than expected to reach the desired temperature, check that the cover is properly in place and the filtration pump is on. For further concerns, reach out to our team.
